When You Wish Upon A Star

20090316 Finally agreed to go with Ann-san to visit DisneySea…

1204 hrs Arrive at DisneySea 15 minutes late. Meet Aya-chan who sooo kindly helped us get 2000 yen off each ticket, making it only 3800 yen!

1222 hrs OMG, there’s a Disney TRAIN!!! I’m so excited~
Disney Resort Train

1242 hrs It actually takes about half an hour from the Real World train station before you go through the gates of DisneySea. And we see our first queue! Japanese are soooo civilised. They queue in an orderly manner for everything. These people were queueing to take photos of the 25th Anniversary globe.
1st queue we see

1244 hrs Aya-chan said this mountain is the symbol of DisneySea. So here you go.

1308 hrs After collecting the “Fast Pass” for 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, we stand in line to buy lunch. I like the glowy Jellyfish dude. (All photos from this point are blur due to poor light or cold hands. haha)
i love jellyfish

1332 hrs Finally!!! First feeding of the day! Scallop Croquette. It was gooood.
morning snack - scallop croquette

We ride 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea – it was alright. Good effort at simulating the underwater effect I guess. Then, we get to Journey to the Centre of the Earth – the queueing begins and so does the twittering…

1438 hrs Am at disneysea, believe it or not, and the current line is THREE HOURS long!

1552 hrs @kryan70 it looks nice, but i’ve only been on one ride! still queueing!
…check out Ann-san after 1+ hour LOL~
after 1.5 hours

1621 hrs After 1 hour and 50 minutes, we’ve reached some lifts. Are they taking us to another queue i wonder!

1626 hrs I’m right! Another queue! but the ride is right in front of us, phew!
the queue after the queue

1641 hrs And it’s over! LOL
A 3-minute ride after queuing for almost 2 hours. Talk about learning to be patient. We also learnt from this, the Actual Queue Time is about 2/3 of whatever is displayed at the start of the queue. Aya-chan has to go and leaves Ann-san and I to try to conquer the rest of DisneySea. We discover long waiting times at other rides and head for some refreshments instead. And I drag Ann-san through a bit of crowded shopping. Hehe. And isn’t this pretty :) It looks even better at night.
mermaid town

1811 hrs Ok, I know it’s mean to be judgemental, but we spot this.. uh. interesting outfit.
Nice Dress

1818 hrs Queueing for Tower of Terror. SO SCARY! 140 min at the start of the line.
Actually, it’s just Ann-san is trying to scare me. Silly me thought that this ride is done standing. They have chairs actually.
Tower of Terror

1835 hrs I saw a UFO! Ervin says it’s a plane.
I SWEAR. I thought it was a star at first, but then it started moving in a straight line and I thought I saw it turn at an angle. Then it flew forward, but had tiny, minute pauses, kinda jerkily, then it disappeared behind the trees and I could see no more.

1932 hrs Can’t feel my feet anymore but the end is in sight!
The night-view from inside the ride is gorgeous. If only we had a couple of minutes to admire it before we go scrreeeeeaaaaaaammmminnnnnnnnnng down the elevator chute.

We survive long enough to queue another hour or so (like an old couple who have nothing to talk about anymore :P) for the Indy Jones’ ride, which turned out to be my favourite. It didn’t have the “terror” of the Tower, but the effects were done so well, I was completely blown away.

2206 hrs And we’re on the Reality Train back to Tokyo! What should we eat for dinner?

2328 hrs Had ramen instead of shabu-shabu cos i’m just too tired. On the way home. FINALLY!

0004 hrs my poor, poor feet. i sayang you.

Me, after today
IndyJones

Good night~

Yaaaa, he came for the anime fair, and squeezed a holiday in too.

Me too, not a big disney fan (warner bros!!!), but the train was super cute.

  3. Daz says:

that last photo made me LOL.

and it sounds like u spent most of the day queuing!?! was it worth it??!?

  4. kiapkiap says:

hm, the indy jones ride was probably the most worth it – shortest time in queue (probably cos it was late) for best production design. Tower of Terror has the physical scare, but no big deal.

  5. Kitty says:

    Who’s that cute guy?! :P

    Queueing is our national pastime!!

  6. Carlene says:

Wah!! Look like you guys had fun :) thank you thank you for the card and the post it!! Miss you!!! Take photos of the sakuras, ok?

  7. superlurvr says:

ok, not to scare you.. but that photo with that black and white couple… the one with some radiant spots…. you know what those spots mean right? …. yup, not from this world…. tower of terror indeed…
