The hotel was a good deal, thanks to some club membership that Aya-chan’s dad had. It cost us ￥6,500 each, and included both dinner and breakfast, indoor and outdoor hot springs, PLUS an incredible massage chair that I wished I could bring home. I bet the chair can’t even fit through my door. [...]

1. Narrowly missed being ‘bombed’ by a bird by about 1cm while walking to work yesterday.
2. Somehow found the energy and motivation to go for a 40-minute walk last night.

About 2 weeks ago, Aya-chan and I headed for Hakone for a 2-day/1-night getaway. Considering that Hakone seems to be a pretty standard getaway for Tokyoites, it’s pretty amazing that I haven’t set foot in the region yet.
