I think I got tired of updating about the trip hehe, so I took a bit of a break in spite of my resolution to update this more regularly. So, a bit of quick news… let’s see…
~ Bought an iPhone! It’s absolutely lovely. It’s currently named pomme-chan. Haven’t spent any money on apps (yet). Read Pride & Prejudice on it and the other day I tried to walk home from another station, and got lost and the Map took me home! The wonders of technology.
~ Got my JLPT results. Failed as expected, but I’m probably the happiest failure you’d ever know. Managed to achieve my goal of at least a 10% improvement on my last test as mentioned before, and went from 197/400 to 250/400, thanks mostly to the Listening and Writing/Vocabulary sections. Phew~ It’s time to buckle down and study for the December one though. I must pass this time!!!
~ Now something disgusting. My third toe got severely bruised from the climbing/trekking on Yakushima, the nail turned purple the day after. I thought it was getting better because the discolouration was clearing up, but last week, the nail decided it couldn’t take it anymore and left. Now there’s something resembling a nail on my toe, but it’s not quite right. God, I hope it grows back properly.
~ In addition to the Third Toe Issue, all that walking, climbing and especially downhill climbing, really did a job on my knees. My knee problems haven’t come back for a few years, sigh. I decided this is a wake-up call to lose some weight. Headed to HMV… and when you find that your choices are between Shake Your Booty with Carmen Electra or The 30-day Shred with Jillian Michaels, the choice is obvious.
I didn’t know who Jillian Michaels was, but I’m a fan now because her workout is just really efficient. 20 minutes! There’s no excuse really. Anyway, her DVD claims you can lose 9kg in 30 days. I’m quite realistic about myself. Especially when I’ve only lost 700 GRAMS in a week, no thanks to potato chips and McDonald’s. It’s much nicer to look at these numbers in Pounds. 700 Grams = 1.5 Pounds. ;) My target is 7kg, so I’ll try a little harder this week and add a couple of 1L bottles as my weights.
~ Also been working on another website so that I can finally launch my Soul Realignment practice. Can’t wait to start doing that!
